Shortcut Keys

Ctrl shortcuts depend on the application. The table distinguishes common Windows browser commands from Word/document commands; one key can have different functions.

Browser entries refer to common Chrome/Edge commands on Windows; Word entries refer to desktop Word. For minimizing the current Windows window, use Win + Down Arrow (may first restore a maximized window); Win + M minimizes all windows.

Exam Trap
Always name the application: Ctrl+E centres text in Word but focuses search in browsers; Ctrl+M increases indent in Word and inserts a slide in PowerPoint. Win+M, not Ctrl+M, minimizes all Windows windows.
